Mount Everest

Less than 48hrs to go!!!

  |   7Summits, Mount Everest   |   No comment

In less than 48hrs, Raed, Masoud, and myself will be heading out to climb the highest mountain in the world Mount Everest! I still don’t know why I am doing this. Must be a bug I caught in 2009 while trekking to Everest Base camp.

I had my last training session today with Walter (my trainer), as we were leaving the gym he mentioned to me “can you believe it, we are done!” in my head I said I didn’t even start. All the training I did is just preparation foe the long 60day expedition.

The time has come now, this is becoming real. I have been dreaming of this for 4 years and now we are just 48hrs away.

I will have a facelift done to my website (moealthani.com) that will make tracking our progress easier and more fun. This should be up before I leave to Katmandu.

My Next Journey is Just Around the Corner

The time has come for my next journey, this time it will be to the top of the world Mount Everest 8,850m. In 12 Days I will fly to Katmandu where I will meet our guides and Sherpas. This Journey will be my longest, It might take over 45 days to reach the top.
My good friends Masoud Mohammed and Raed Zidan will be climbing the mountain with me, having people I trust there with me will definitely give me a huge support. Ali Jaber and Ziad Al Sharabi will see us off at Everest base camp, I climbed with both of them a few times.
I have been preparing for this climb for quite a while, and you can never be ready for a Monster like Everest. What you can do is give it 100% every training day. By now all 3 of us are fully packed and ready we counting down the days until we depart.
I will be as usual updating my blog regularly, I will also have a GPS tracking device on me so you can track our progress.
Regards
Moe
